Two standards are provided by TC183 (Submitted under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Steel Standardization,) TC183SC4 The work is carried out by the Subcommittee on Mechanical and Process Testing Methods of the National Technical Committee for Steel Standardization, with the China Iron and Steel Association serving as the competent authority. Shanghai Shangcai Testing Machine Co., Ltd., as one of the principal drafting organizations for these two standards, has provided both theoretical foundations and empirical data to support the Rockwell and Brinell hardness testing methods for metallic materials, thereby making a modest contribution to the standardization of industry norms.
